The North Wing is our 23 bed single room building which caters for a mixture of care needs residents. Each room is comfortable and homely with most being fitting with some form of cooling or overhead fan and all being warmed by hydronic heating ensuring the temperature is maintained to maximize comfort levels of our much loved residents.
Rooms contain either built in or free standing wardrobes and drawer units. They are freshly painted with a majority having either a courtyard or fence line garden view which is maintained and ever changing to cater for the different seasons.
The North Wing has a large day room which is generally the central point for any major facility event or activity. It is bright and airy and provides ample room for social interactions among the residents or any families and friends that may be visiting.
Many events have been held in the North Wing day room including our annual “Oaks Day” celebration where residents and staff participate in fashion on the fields, novelty horse races and a special afternoon tea.
North Wing is also home to our Orthodox Chapel where regular monthly services are held in conjunction with other special services and times of worship.
The Chapel offers a unique and quiet area where you are welcomed to come and sit for some quiet reflection time or prayer. It overlooks a courtyard area which is often utilised to hold combined resident and staff BBQ’s. Its location makes it an ideal place to sit and relax under the shade of the trees, especially in the warmer months when the sun is at its brightest.
Like the East/West Wing meals can be served in rooms or the day room however most of our residents prefer to go to the Dining Hall and enjoy their meals among other residents giving a family feel that Kronstadt Gardens is known for.
