Our 11 bed South Wing which caters specifically for residents that may be suffering the effects of Dementia is the newest addition to the facility. The wing has 11 private rooms, all with ensuite’s. Rooms are very spacious, bright and have new and modern fittings and fixtures.
Rooms are fitted out with new furniture and like the rest of the facility residents are encouraged to bring in their own personal items so they can feel as close to being at home as possible.
The South Wing is kept at a comfortable temperature through hydronic heating and evaporative cooling.
The South Wing has 2 common areas which are used for TV viewing and the other providing for meals to be served and enjoyed. This area has a small kitchenette where families and friends are more than welcome to make tea and coffee whilst visiting their loved ones.
Regular activities are held in the South Wing involving all residents through the Lifestyle Program and a team of dedicated Volunteers.
The South Wing is a secure area and residents are free to wander within the wing and the surrounding gated garden area. Residents are often encouraged to participate with other activities being held throughout the facility and in the past have enjoyed special events such as a “Sound of Music” movie night where staff volunteered their time to come in an provide a cinema experience for our dearly loved residents whilst enjoying a sing-a-long to the many favourites throughout the movie.
